Welcome to the “Singing on the Wind” web-site!

The aim of the site is to provide a concise explanation of some of the mental and physical aspects of horn playing. Through the descriptions, you can make a comparison with your own playing, thus increasing your awareness of what you, yourself, are actually doing. With the exercises you can improve your playing by being more conscious of what you need to do (or not do, as the case may be!) in order to play the way you wish.

“Singing on the Wind”- the Book, provides a description of the basic elements of horn playing, with some excellent cartoons by Napier Dunn. It was published in 2004 to very positive critical acclaim from both “The Horn Call” and “The Horn Player”. It is available in English (BU 1203) and German (BU1202) via the link.

“Singing on the Wind” – the Forum, provides an opportunity to discuss ideas on a personal basis. Questions and comments are welcome. I will do my best to answer accordingly.
